Do not be too sad - serial painting
‘Do not be too sad’ is a serial painting that explores the defeatism
and resignation through the void and ambiguous forms.
Red void absorbs lights and returns nothing but red light.
White solid reflects light, but it does not precisely speak a word.
The human-scale forms hint at the beginning of symbolism,
but they end up not reaching the specific meaning.
In other words, the images are corps of meaning floating in a red void.
At the same time, they are a landscape of a pessimistic future.
They may be non-symbolic symbols that portray the defeatism
of our postmodern time.
Angelus Novus - triptych
‘Angelus Novus’ is a triptych communicating optimistic nihilism.
Because we lost our strong bond in childhood of humanity,
regretful attitudes, nostalgic minds, pathological symptoms, and
dystopian visions are filling our time.
If our time is linear and irresistible, if our time is just homogeneously
progressing into absolute zero, desperation might be the only option
we have. Potentially, every life and every moment is just long,
steady progress into death.
Eventually, at the extreme of these ideas, we just hover around
nostalgia and melancholia. Despite all that, do not be too sad.
Do not fear too much. Because if we live until death and die one day,
our doubtful afterworld, unproven angels may welcome us and hear
our confession.
